Like every graphical user interface SBench 6 will benefit from a fast CPU and sufficient memory. Please see the below mentioned requirement as a minimum:
- CPU: Intel starting with Pentium 3 and newer, AMD starting with Athlon
- CPU: multi-core: SBench 6 has been designed thread based and benefits from multi core CPUs especially when using multiple time consuming calculation functions like FFT
- Memory: at least 1 GByte of system memory. For high channel counts we recommend 2 GBytes or more
- Hard disk: at least 50 MB of free hard disk space for the program + sufficient space for acquired data
Supported Platforms
SBench 6 can be installed under Windows and Linux, both 32 bit and 64 bit. The following platforms are supported:
- Intel x86 and x64, AMD, no ARM
- Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 all 32 bit and 64 bit
- Linux with kernel 3.x or 4.x 32 bit and 64 bit platforms
- Linux with KDE and Gnome
Streaming Requirements
When doing fast data streaming there are some extra requirements:
- Separate hard disk array for data with RAID 0
- Recommended 1 processor core for each acquisition card in the system
- Data throughput of hard disk array at least 20% higher than planned acquisition speed
- SATA, SAS or SSD disks
- Activate continuous memory for higher throughput
